Little Book of Mantras is a black-and-white photobook designed to offer daily wisdom and gentle reflections for navigating life’s challenges. Each page pairs timeless quotes with evocative images captured across Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka—portraits of people in devotion alongside sacred landscapes, including the rivers Ganges and Yamuna, and the majestic Himalayas.
My hope is that the synergy of word and image will resonate deeply with readers, offering moments of stillness, strength, and connection.
This book is also a tribute to Sangita, whose quiet determination and devotion to her family inspired its creation. In her honour, 10% of all proceeds will go towards supporting her education.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Story about where the proceeds of the book will be going towards
Meet Sangita
Quiet in presence but fierce in purpose, Sangita is one of the most dedicated young students I’ve ever encountered. I met her while staying with her family in Jiri, Nepal—her father was my guide on the Manaslu trek. Over seven days, I witnessed a rhythm of unwavering commitment: waking at 4:00am, helping her mother prepare breakfast, walking an hour and a half to school in the dark, studying all day, returning home to help with chores, and then repeating it all again—weekends included, often with six or more hours of study.
When I spoke at her school, I asked her classmates about their dreams. Their answers revealed a deep sense of family, pride, and the transformative power of education. It moved me deeply. Before I left, I made a promise—to support Sangita in pursuing her dream of studying abroad.
This is why “Little Book of Mantras” exists not just as a source of daily inspiration, but as a vessel of hope.
10% of every book sold will go directly towards Sangita’s education fund.
Together, we can help a determined young woman step closer to her dream.
Aum Shanti Shanti Shanti.
